Transformed Section Properties
Transformed section properties may be used and are controlled by two user inputs. These two inputs control the transformed section property behavior for both stress computations and for deflection calculations. The options for transformed section properties are:
None: No reinforcement is transformed. Only gross section properties are used.
All: All reinforcement is transformed.
Mild Only: Only mild reinforcement is transformed; strand will be ignored.
Strand Only: Only prestressing reinforcement is transformed; mild will be ignored.
When transforming reinforcement, the true area of the reinforcement is used and does not take development into account. However, when the cross-section is cracked the cracking procedure used for deflections requires the transformation of all reinforcement in the section, therefore at those member locations that are cracked, Option 2 will be used regardless of the user input.
