Vibration Analysis

Vibration analysis is done following PCI 12.7 Design for Rhythmic Excitation. Table 12.7.1 and 12.7.2 contain the coefficients used by the analysis depending on the type of event causing the vibrations. The analysis done mirrors that done is PCI Example 12.8.1 in which the maximum allowable length is computed and compared against the precast piece’s length. The analysis ignore all super imposed dead loads and instead takes in a separate value for the expected sustained load. This value is unfactored and should represent the true sustained loading that will be present at the time of vibration.
